I sure do totally understand about the " time" factor when you have little ones as well as trying to be a wife , mother, cook and bottle washer, playmate and decision maker and then at the end of the day try to look like you've done none of them !
If you do get time to read any of the Bible teachings I would suggest you read the one on Forgiving first. Where it says Beauty for Ashes is the story of how I came to know the Lord. You will then understand why I'm so crazy about Jesus !!
If I can ever be of help to you don't hesitate to ask. Many blessings, julia
Rish, I've probably said this before, but you are such an asset to the website. In addition to your contribution of art, your critiquing is important. Every time you make a comment, I look at my art again, but through your eyes. Every time I do, I learn something about what makes each piece good and what can make it better. When I labor over something, I don't always consciously make choices. Your eye for things is causing me to develop an eye and hopefully I can deliberately apply what I learn.
Thank you so much! :D
Thanks for the comments!! Good to hear from you!
Thank You that is so sweet of you to say.
By the way ~ That baby is adorable!!!!!!
many Blessings, Julia
Risha, I cropped up to the puddle and in a bit on the sides to a 4"X6" dimension. Let me know what you think!
Thanks for your feedback, and I hope you are taking good care of yourself and basking in every moment of mommyhood!
~Sharon
Thanks for the comments on my pictures! Hope you and the baby are doing great!
Hey! Thanks for the sweet comment! :) I hope all is well with you... are you expecting???!!! Congrats!
Yes, having an infant is hard, hard work...it's the hardest work in the world being a parent, and the most gratifying. That said, you might find yourself crying on occasion from lack of sleep in the beginning there, LOL. But it will fly by, blah blah all stuff you've heard before but I have to say it because it's TRUE!
I predict new and deeper discoveries of the artist within on account of the new love in your life. I found myself writing a storybook and illustrating it, something I never thought I would do. Being a mom is rewarding, tiring, and impossible to put into words. That's why they dedicated a day to honoring it every year!
The piece is done and I'll let you rate it. I'm very satisfied. I will be getting it to its owner in about a week and then I'll post it.
Grab that sleep when you can, and take care of yourself. We miss you on here and wish you the best.
Congratulations on the birth of Michael James!
May you thoroughly enjoy every moment, crazy and quiet, as your baby grows.
Wow, yeah, you're about ready to pop!!! Haha :-) I remember once I was sitting and watching TV while eating cookies or something, engrossed in a show. I looked down and my husband and I started laughing because the plate I had been holding was resting on my belly like a table. See...it has all sorts of advantages!
I see it! Yeah...this is gonna be time consuming looking over old posts and zooming in on them. But it's gonna be FUN!!! I checked out a couple and yeah, what a difference!
And I see YOU found the uploady-whoosey button that was missing for awhile...I look forward to checking out your new work!
Thank you for your detailed critiques! I have always felt out of my element sketching a message rather than total realism, but it's growing on me. I was vague, leaving out shadows for the most part, and I'm not used to that! You can probably see why I abandoned the pastel idea. The digital brightening gave the effect I was looking for without mixing mediums...and it's much less messy!
Now that you've spoiled me, expect me to be bugging you again!
Thank you so much! It was perfectly timed. I'm going to skip the pastels on this particular project. You explained well why you can paint over pencils (and some better than others) but have to take extra measures using pencil underneath pastels. I look forward to your next blog (but no rush), and I greatly appreciate you giving of your valuable time!
:-)
No there's no magic button...I wish there was!
Thanks for all your insight. You are an inspiration to me and I'm sure many others on here.
March it is,
Sharon
I'm honored that you favorited my pastel, risha. It reeeeeally means a lot.
Speak soon!
Wow! Marysia, thank you so much for all the very nice compliments!!! That was very nice of you to take the time to look through my art and do that! It means a lot! :)
Hey Marysia!
Thanks for all your comments. Yes, I have another pastel to do, maybe two. The customer has 2 girls which is why I went with the pastel over graphite...but he also has a son. That one I'm leaning toward doing black and white to set it apart. (And pastels are soft and sort of feminine I think.) What do you suggest? He is giving me artistic license (yay!).
God bless you and your husband and that little baby that you probably can't WAIT to meet!
Thanks for the great comments lol. I will change the lyrics for A Used Girl and twick it a bit soo that the wedding part. Thanks for the input i really enjoy the constructive critism. ttyl

He won't sit still, I just have to take a lot of pictures haha but I did that one this morning with my new pencils :) I could really see and feel the change when I did the outlining of the face and the lines on the shirt and some of the shading.
I bought some pencils this morning and I can really tell a BIG difference!! I love switching them up for different areas -- THANKS so much for suggesting that!!
