Brianna began her Classical singing training at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama’s Junior Academy when she was thirteen years old and since then she has been a member of many music organizations such as the National Youth Choir of Scotland, The Royal Scottish Academy Chamber Choir and Senior Choir, The Royal Scottish National Orchestra’s Chorus and more recently The University of Glasgow’s Chapel Choir, who earlier this year had the pleasure of singing at the premier of Ronald Stevenson’s piece “Praise to Beinn Dorain” at the Celtic Connections festival.
Throughout the year she takes part in many concerts and competitions, not only with the choirs but also a solo performer. Brianna came first in the Glasgow Festivals Opera and Oratorio section twice, first in 2005 and again, this year, in 2008 where she also won the Judith Richmond Memorial certificate and the Janette Clanachan Memorial Award for performance of Opera and Oratorio. At the 2008 Glasgow Festival she was also invited to perform in the final night with the winner of the Festival of the year before. Brianna has had the pleasure of performing with students from the Senior Academy of Music in charity concerts around Scotland to raise money for very worthy causes.

As a member of the Junior Academy she was entered into the competition for the Glasgow Cup for Voice and received high commendation for her performance. She has also had the pleasure of winning the Dorothy Copeland award for Music, the Gilbert and Sullivan award for Music performance and the Walker Quaich Award for Vocal performance, as well as the South Lanarkshire Award for Dedication to Music.

Brianna as well as performing classical music also enjoys taking part in production where she has held leading roles such as in the East Kilbride Light Opera’s production of “The Sound of Music” and the Gilbert and Sullivan Society’s production of “The Gondoliers”.

While studying music at The University of Glasgow; BMus Degree, she continues to perform as a soloist in many locations throughout Britain, often to audiences of hundreds of people. Her goal is to become a professional classical singer and have the privilege of performing with great vocalists, conductors and composers.

Brianna has also successfully produced a concert this year, which will feature talent from all over Scotland. It took place on 14th June 2008 in Claremont Church, East Kilbride.

  • Idol 2008

Well, I have just been reminded by Timothy - thank you, that I didn't update you on what happened. Well I wasn't chosen as the best of the runner ups unfortunately but the people who hold the competition did asked if they could enter me into a similar competition for next year, which I agreed to do. So I am going to be taking part in Festival for the Stars in February and hopefully i ill make it all the way this time. Again, sorry for not updating you!!!

    Thank you,

    Brianna

  • Idol 2008

Well last night was the Scottish regional finals for Idol 2008 and I am so glad to say that I was the Runner Up for that and that I still have a chance to go to the Finals as the best of the Runners-up is chosen to go! So I am very hopeful!
I think that placing as Runner up is extremely seen as how I was the youngest performer out of 21 people and I was a classical act in a pop competition.
The most amazing feeling was getting a standing ovasion from the audience after I sang, it was the most overwhelming but amazing experience I have ever had and I am so grateful for the oppotunity!

Hey fellow Got Crowder,
If you think that you might struggle to find suitable presents for your nearest and dearest this Christmas, then please consider the range of books that my publishing company has released in recent months.
If you know anyone who likes popular music, then they may be interested in:
The Song For Today by Jimmie Oliver; featuring a different song and news story for each day of the year; or
An Essential Guide To Music In The 1970s by Johnny Zero; a mini-encyclopedia on 'seventies rock and pop; or
A Concise Guide To Eighties' Music by Karl Vorderman; crammed full of information on rock and pop in the 1980s
If you know anyone who likes sport, then they may be interested in:
England Football Team, 1946-2006, A Complete Record by John Bull; or
The Ashes, 1945-2005, A Complete Record by Tony Wagtar; a book for cricket fans; or
The Five Nations/Six Nations, 1970-2009, A Complete Record by Ian Bronderson; a book for rugby fans
Alternatively, we offer a couple of offbeat and 'unique' books entitled:
How To Commit Suicide In Ten Easy Steps by KJ Rolling; or
Garry Potter And The Same Old Nonsense by David Backhim
Of course you could just follow the crowd and buy books written by celebrities who are less intelligent than you and whose lifestyle is funded by gullible people who foolishly worship them. What you choose to buy is a matter for you, but there are many good writers out there (including some of our own) who deserve to be taken seriously. It would be good to see genuine writers enjoy the kind of book sales this Christmas that the greedy celebrities are taking for granted. Thank you for your attention and I won't hassle you again. If you have any queries about the content or prices of my books, let me know. They can be sourced via online bookshops, such as Amazon and Blackwells.
                         Warmest wishes
