MY BIO

I am an artist with a specific passion for creating portraits using pencils or pastels. Additionally, I enjoy illustrating, photography, and writing. Without a lot of time to practice my hobbies, I snatch moments here and there for now.

Here's an example of a small sketch I made based on a photo:

I love nature, so hiking is something I am obsessed with and it runs in the family. I also love running. I do my best thinking and praying out on the open road.

Most of all I love people ~ being with close family and friends is something I try to make a regular habit of.

I learned piano and could play a little if given enough time with some sheet music to jog my memory, but that's where my experience with music ends. Like most everyone I love music, and I have a special affinity for Celtic music being part Irish, but I don't think there's a sound I don't like to some degree. My FAVORITE music right now is Celtic ThunderLightning, five amazing, diverse talents from Ireland and Scotland:  http://www.celticthunder.ie/biographies.php  One of my favorite songs they perform is "The Island," sung by member Keith Harkin:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ajw3AZA_7A. I highly recommend you give it a listen. Written by Paul Brady about war in Ireland, it really is a piece that transcends time. Each of these guys (and one young boy) are so talented it is hard to believe someone (the famed Sharon BrowneSmile) found them and put them all together for the show which tours in the states this fall. No they're not paying me to say this (in fact to date they've received quite a bit of my money)...I just love them!

I am always amazed when I see raw, God-given talent in a person, and even happier when I see it honed and used. Every individual is created uniquely and given gifts by God. My sole desire is to use my gifts to delight others and bring my Lord joy.Gift

  • CELTIC THUNDER...

Celtic Thunder The Show was phenomenal...great...phenomenally great!  I finally had the chance to see them in concert last night at Radio City Music Hall in NYC during their 4th performance in the states...a fitting place to see them, as I have memories of seeing The Phantom of the Opera and Christmas Spectacular in the same theater, and Celtic Thunder is more of a show than a mere concert.  I was a bit unsure if they would be as good live - they were.  The great Phil Coulter was there, and I had the immense pleasure of meeting the Creator and Producer of the show, Sharon Browne, in the lobby before the concert!  Several fans were there that are "regulars" at the "Thunderpub" - a place where we avid fans chat with each other and occasionally with Sharon and the guys online.  We were standing in a group wearing our t-shirts for the event (yes, we're that into them...one fan had t-shirts made awhile back for us and another charm bracelets), and she just walked up, introduced herself, and shook each of our hands while getting our names (both online names and off!).  They are a wonderful group of people involved, and I highly recommend if you are into Celtic music that you give them a listen on youtube or celticthunder.ie.  If you like their sound, I assure you they do not disappoint live.Smile  Energetic stage presence, strong voices, perfect performance. • I'm likin' it here

This website launched a mere week ago, and in that time I cannot believe the amount and quality of talent pouring in. It's sort of addicting. If you haven't already, check out Alexis Saski in Christian musicMusic. Her voice is stunning! I want to gush about a lot of artists on here, but I'll leave it at that for now.Smile

Yup, it's right up there with the running man and the moonwalk! (May your husband bless you with those demonstrations, too!) For those of us who can't dance, we have to follow the old tried and true methods!

So far, so good! After much poking, prodding, and exercise, we managed to get it to show its giblets: it's a boy. My husband keeps doing the butter churn dance : )
