 That is very good question. In the Bible thier are many verses. The verses teach us about god and his son jesus. All through out the Bible and those in those verses there are pronouns.These pronouns are always him or his or he when it refers to God or his son, Jesus. here are a few verses for you to look at that show why god is a male. 

  Genesis 1:26 God siad "Let us make man in our image, acordding in our likeness." he made man first than he made woman later out of the mans ribs.( This was all in third person.) THEN god became the flesh, in the MAN Jesus.

colossians 2:9

 "In him dwelt all the fullness of god and his body."

Jhon 1:1-4

In the begining was the word and the word was God. He was the begining with God. And all things were made through him.And without him nothing would be made that was made. In him was life....."
