This is a poem I wrote about the "end of the world" from my perspective. It is somewhat in response to Harold Camping's prediction of the rapture on 5/21/11 and subsequent end of the world on 10/21/11. I don't subscribe to Mr. Camping's point of view!

The End of the World

When will the “end of the world” come?

Will it be ushered in by monomaniacal zealots,

With self-assured aplomb?

Will it be announced on billboards,

To the blind, deaf and dumb?

Will we feel fine about it?

Will we care how we’ve lived?

Will it come without warning?

Will it be received as a gift?

I don’t presume to know

The very day that reason finds rhyme.

But I do know this:

I want to be found faithful

When my Lord does return

In the fullness of time.
