This watercolor was inspired by a photograph of a Spokane Indian taken in 1880 by photographer Edward S. Curtis for National Geographic.
I chose sepia water color to bring out the weathered and earthy essence that the wrinkles and lines on the face express.
Painted on 14x19 cold press board with matting attached. This Indian speaks to our collective soul and reminds us of the true value in things beyond the human eye.
Signed on the bottom right corner, and dated on the back
